One swing wins the 2003 World Long Drive Championship.
That's right, one swing, 366 yards later, grab the trophy and smile for the camera.
The only head to remain in the catalog from the original group of seven, and with good reason...
The longest clubhead we have, when measured from heel to toe. It's long and slender, almost sexy shape, affords the lowest Center Of Gravity and best overall feel of the entire line of SMT heads. I designed this head for myself back in 2002 and it surely has stood the test of time. Once you hit this low slung beauty, you will immediately put your current driver up for sale on the locker room bulletin board.
Very forgiving design, especially for the player that tends to have their mishits happen in the heel or toe area of the clubface. Every single shot has a unique solid feel, regardless of where you make contact.
This head is a favorite of the player looking for traditional good looks and high soaring shots. The Shinnecock tends to play almost 1/2 of a degree higher than stated loft.
